Texture packs

WindowsDocuments\PCSX2\textures\<SERIAL>\replacements\
Linux~/.config/PCSX2/textures/<SERIAL>/replacements/
macOS~/Library/Application Support/PCSX2/textures/<SERIAL>/replacements/

Put the pack's files in a folder named after the game's serial, inside the replacements subfolder. PCSX2 dumps textures to the dumps subfolder beside it. Turn on texture replacement in the graphics settings. A portable install keeps the textures folder beside the PCSX2 executable.

Patches

Linux~/.config/PCSX2/patches/
macOS~/Library/Application Support/PCSX2/patches/

PCSX2 ships its patch database inside the emulator (patches.zip), so a built-in patch needs no file: turn it on from the Patches page of the game's properties window. A patch you add yourself goes in the patches folder as SERIAL_CRC.pnach.

Cheats

Linux~/.config/PCSX2/cheats/

Cheat files use the same pnach format and go in the cheats folder. They are turned on from the Cheats page of the game's properties window.

Frontends

  • RetroDECK RetroDECK keeps its own folder layout; its wiki says where each emulator's textures and patches go.
  • EmuDeck EmuDeck installs PCSX2 with its own paths; its wiki says where each emulator's textures and patches go.

Built-in enhancements

The widescreen, 60 fps and fix patches that ship inside PCSX2 are listed on each game's page, marked as built in, with the setting that turns them on. They need no download.
